A carbon facial, often called the Hollywood facial, is a laser treatment that deep-cleans and brightens the skin. It is popular with people whose skin is oily, congested or dull. We offer carbon facials at our Llanelli clinic from £60 a session.

A carbon facial is a laser facial that exfoliates the surface of the skin and clears out the pores. It is used to improve skin texture, reduce the look of enlarged pores, clear blackheads and even out skin tone.
It can be used on all skin types, but it is especially beneficial for oily or acne-prone skin, because it removes the build-up of oil and dirt that leads to congestion.
A thin layer of liquid carbon is applied to the skin, where it settles into the pores and binds to oil, dirt and dead skin cells.
A Q-switched laser is then passed over the skin. It emits short, high-intensity pulses of light that are absorbed by the carbon, lifting it away and taking the top layer of dead skin cells and excess sebum with it.
The gentle heat from the laser also stimulates collagen in the skin, which helps to refine texture and tighten the look of pores. You may feel a slight tingling, which is normal.
Most people see brighter, smoother skin after one session. For the best and longest-lasting results, we usually recommend a course of three to five treatments.
A carbon facial works on the surface of the skin. It can refresh tone and texture and soften the look of fine lines, but it will not remove deeper lines or scarring, and results vary from person to person.
Tanned skin cannot be treated, and that includes fake tan.
